In Ranch Hand, Kidd chose Hypno to use Switcheroo to swap a Pokédoll for Phione in Rosa's arms. When they were discovered by Rosa's Piplup, he put it back to sleep. He battled Rosa's Slugma, then helped them escape by using Poison Gas.
In The First Move, Hypno is chosen to battle against Hugh when the battle turns against Kidd and Android. Its attacks are blocked and he is defeated by Togepi.
In Collision with Past Ideals, Hypno teams up with Thing 1 to battle Dawn's Rapidash and Hugh's Flygon. He repels Flygon's Rock Slide, and causes it to drop from the sky by giving it an Iron Ball via Switcheroo. Dawn and Hugh retreat, and Kidd returns Hypno when she surrenders.
